So what does Aurey do when he's up late recovering from the dregs of that-illness-which-is-a-long-story-in-itself?  Get into a spate of writing poetry, of course, though this may come off as more of a sheer flood of verbiage.  I may reattempt something on the same lines in a different frame of mind, but this frame after all seems the appropriate one for the gist of it.  Composed amidst the anachronistic pseudo-cacophony of...well, we are all online, are we not?  The wonders of modern technology...and  Η αλήθεια είναι πιό παράξενη από μυθιστοριογραφία των φανατικών υποστηρικτών - go on, have fun with that one.

Anyhow....poetry.  Tell me what you think of it....there's plenty more where it came from.

What music for the Ishtar Gate, in accompaniments of ages past and now and yet to come?  )

In other news, I have officially completed my thirty-fourth year of life, as of 1:29 am Central Daylight Time.  Astrological stats are as follows, in which you will find that I have things in some very interesting and seemingly-paradoxical places, if you know what they mean - but right up front is the fact that I have Libra as my sun sign and Leo as my ascendant - so which one is the more definitive of my identity?  (At which point I point to the Chinese zodiac and say, "I'm a Fire Dragon - that explain anything?")

Astrological jargon... )

I'll make a less-peremptory post on that later, so tell me if you're actually interested in seeing what all that is supposed to mean, so I can add you to that degree/angle of filter.  I used to have a girlfriend who was obsessive about doing up astrological charts for everyone she dated, but I'm not quite that compulsive when it comes to analyzing people.  If it fits then it fits, saith man the pattern-seer.

....I'm thirty-three years old, believe it or not, and have been so for one hour and forty-four minutes. Hell ought to be freezing over shortly, but it'd be hard to tell given the usually-intemperate Chicago weather report, which promises freezing nights within a week anyhow.

Personality quizzes say I'm a glam rock omelette.... )

Been stressed to the hilt lately, but that should be relieved now, or at least shift into all the other stresses due to crawl up my back with deadlines and such. I have a play to copyedit and gank audition sides from, and the auditions themselves to attend and evaluate next week. This time, I'm co-directing. >:) Plus -- oh bugger, I just remembered this -- I have to email a half-size audition flier out before I can go to bed. No rest quite yet for this wicked polymathematical johannes factotum.....

I'll be back online tonight, and less frazzled, one hopes...

aureantes: Portrait bust of Alexander the Great (Default)
( Sep. 30th, 2009 02:18 am)

....I'm turning 33 next Tuesday (at 1:29 am, befitting my night-owl habits).  Make of that what you will...some might think that it warrants a certain degree of paranoia, or at least (as per Mel Brooks) a mental chorus of "Destiny, destiny -- no escaping that for me!"

I suppose we shall see.  I shall mention, bye the bye, that 2012, when I shall turn 36, is the Year of the Dragon -- and a very fiery Dragon I am indeed.

Oh crap.  I just thought up a horribly witty pun for an ornamental pencil-cup.  Feel free to respond with a virtual groan if you happen to land on it -- and then you can expect to see the objets themselves amongst my holiday giftwares.  Because yes, I am just that obnoxious and irreverent.

...actually, six days ago, to be precise, that being last Monday (1:29 am Chicago time, for the horoscopically inclined). And despite all the erratic festivities, running around out to breakfast and dinner, and some very thoughtful gifts, I still haven't yet gotten the one shared experience that I was most intent on doing during the day on my birthday.

And that is?

A walk in the woods. Just a simple, nature-communing, mystical, listening-to-the-trees, relaxing, non-stressing, away-from-the-things-of-man walk in the woods with my significant other.

Life's constant delays.... )
