I suppose I've had a few cases of that in the past when I used to post/reply on large places like ShadowLore's maingroup (truly a mixed bag of claims and sanities...), but any desired misunderstanding of my words was soundly sliced & diced with the verbal ginsus as soon as I saw what they were trying to do. Not to drop past names or anything, but I've had quite enough of people twisting and misinterpreting my words to their own purposes, let alone adding in shite that I never said.
It takes a great deal of self-assurance (and lack of seeing oneself as others see one, to cite Robert Burns) to totally not notice that criticism might be aimed in one's general direction. For my own part, i've always been rather hyper-aware of when people were saying things that referred/applied to me....but then, I've always had a pretty well-developed sense of sarcasm, too.
