Where the f*** have you been....?

I've had this one for maybe a year now, I think....and just when did you notice?

Errol's back online and raring to go, I need to round up some Medjai, and we need to catch up big-time. Especially so far as the alternative demographics stuff goes.

Partially homeless! I'm at my dad's in PA right now on his computer. Mine's been busted for months. Have no idea where I'm going to be living come August.

I noticed a week or two ago when I signed on Yahoo (invisible) to check msgs there. You had the link as your status.

Well, Pennsylvania's a nice place, very attractive on the rural/wooded/mountainous scenery. Used to go there on summer road trips to Philly w/ my family, as our bishop lived there on Wallace Street, had an urban mission parish (he was very much the social progressive, for being Eastern Orthodox, and much into labour and human rights issues).

I would offer co-residency in my house, but I think my mother (as owner) and my sister (as the other person inhabiting the place) would have to have a say in that, plus I'm not sure what exactly your situation is so far as toting kidlets. And we need more functioning computers here, of course...lol My ideal's a big artist's colony of a real mansion, but that'll take a while I suppose.

Anyhow, do keep in touch...Errol's been having the devil's own time trying to play around your inactivity at Secrets of the Past (even though I know he didn't have to teleport himself into your hotel bedroom in Cairo...)...

And the personal stuff....well, come and bug me on IM so we can talk at length in confidence. There's a lot to catch up on.

Re: Where the f*** have you been....?

I hate PA. The humidity blows and the snow comes in retarded amounts only to be slush an hour later. I lived here for the first 25 years of my life.

I think I have a place to go. It's not going to be pleasant, but I need to finish school and I can do that there.

Tell Errol I'm sorry. I'll attempt to unscramble my brain long enough to write something this week, but don't expect it to be good. My life is seriously fucked up right now so I have others things that are sort of demanding my attention and time more. I'll see about dragging my ass on Yahoo for actual chat at some point, too.

I'll be very happy to see your ass whenever you drag it online--not trying to be pressuring. >:D<

We're all currently in a bit of a holding pattern in the RP anyhow, till I pop a balloon and say 'game on' again.

Btw.....here's my warning label

(also posted long ago in my account...yours at your page reminded me, and I'm not sure if you'd count me as a "friend" there)

I dont understand..... what is a quiz going to tell you about yourself that you dont already know?

Do you mean me personally? I'll be the first to admit that a lot of this is old hat to me, and that I'm hardly ever shocked now by the results of these personality quizzes unless they're so ill-composed as to say that I'm a perfectly dull and predictable person.

But most people haven't put in the longterm amount of sheer psychological delving that I have into figuring out the way I work. And even when one has most things explained in general, it's sometimes good to have a reminder, or a refresher -- or yeah, sometimes a whole new view that one hadn't been looking at before. For example, when I took that Meyer-Briggs inventory IRL about 5-6 years ago, I came out as an "Executive Visionary" (forget which letters go with that). That was a definite surprise, because I had always been very much an introspective and introverted person, and had not realized how much I had grown outwards socially and in taking initiative with others, breaking the ice and taking the lead of things. I'm not a stupid person, mind you, but I can be incredibly absentminded sometimes.

Same thing when I kept coming up as an Incubus on this one Mythological Creatures personality test (now inactive, sorry to say) -- I hadn't consciously realized what a sensual character I had, and seeing it personified in some way made a big difference in how I saw myself, not to mention realizing how others see me. You know, that line by Robert Burns, "Oh wad sae gad the giftie gie us, to see oursel's as others see us"--it's that sort of thing, just pulling it out into the light of a (relative) objectivity...and the more vividly metaphorical the better, so far as selves and personality go, because then you can see, you can compare and contrast in more immediate and real ways than just a clinical description.

When I post my quiz results here, or when anyone does, it's more about both the sharing and the personal taste involved than just the quiz results themselves. Not everything that is done on a whim makes it into a technically public display like this, at least on my account. Consider it a meta-communication.
