Hubris -- Overinflation (Greek; different in Hebrew :-|)

Nosce te ipsum -- "Go bite yourself"

Horrorvacui -- Fear of sucking :-|

Fiat lux -- "Check out my Italian car" (lame.....:P)

Gaudeamus igitur -- "These scholars' gowns really are itchy"

Disjecta membra -- Vomitus of exceedingly hostile fellatio...

Deo volente -- "Look!! VOLES!!!!!!"

In saecula saeculorum -- "Until sicker and sicker as one can possibly get"

Mirabile dictu -- "What an astonishing dick you are!"

Ne plus ultra -- "A+....+....+!!!"

Ne puero gladiam -- "Never give a boy cut flowers"

Omnia Gallia in tres partes divisi est -- "First, divide the chicken into three parts..."

Noli me tangere -- "Don't touch my oranges"

Veni, vidi, vici -- "I screwed; I watched; I was arrested in a police raid"

Virtutis amore -- Love of self-righteously blowing one's own horn

Vox populi, vox Dei -- "Even God watches Pop Idol/American Idol" (I know--how depressing.......)


...and my personal esoteric favourite:

Nequaquam vacuum -- "In space, nobody can hear a duck"


And nobody can hear a duck scream, it follows......the lambs are another matter.

Good one.....yeah, I pulled all of these out of my own ass, and was hunting for phrases to mangle out of this behemoth of a Webster's New Twentieth Century Dictionary (yeah, how dated is that?)....I think the next course of studied absurdity (besides the punning duels I engage in at the drop of a hat) will be in the category "Soup Operas". Unless I can get up more plays to accompany "The Iceman Cometh".....
