Just so that I know where it is online, and especially for the sharing with a certain person who shall remain named and known as my beloved Litharriel....
From the start when I was thinking up Lorin's character (originally for the Cairo Nights RPG), I wanted this song to be the theme around him....that there was someone who saw him that clearly, knew him that deeply, and loved him that painfully-strong as to hunt him down again after years of trying to escape the past. Originally I think it hit me (this was in 2003 when I was working in an office, and it was often on the muzak before I even knew the name of the song or the artist) at the same time as a brief and hauntingly vague/savage bit of Jonathan/Ardeth AU, and informed some later RPing along those general lines -- but for Lorin it really came into flower as showing the force behind his internal flight and the conflict inside him that drives him apart from others -- and, like hide-and-seek of the deepest corners of the heart, the passion that has the power to bring him back.
I do hope that a certain person is reading this, considering as said person is running the RPG where Lorin and his soulmate are going to turn up and play out their delicious angst and intimacy...../:)
