Damn...and you know there have got to be even more Jedi in the U.S.--but imagine that, we're more stodgy and hidebound than England. What a world, what a world.....
Really, though, the original Star Wars trilogy and The Dark Crystal formed the essential basis of my personal spirituality when I was little, in a way that neither church nor classical mythology quite reached. That, and a pervasive belief in the ability of magic and belief to take me to other places, literally and/or metaphorically (blame The Secret Garden and all the Oz books for that...).
So--yeah, Star Wars. Your favourite old soul/boyish geek gets into dealing with the Force, both for the sublime and the ridiculous--both of which I know are quite clear in that entry...>:)
